About the event

BOTANICAL SILK SCARF WORKSHOP

Print with plants. Make something beautiful. Wear it home.

Discover the beautiful and unpredictable art of botanical printing on a Friday evening. Also known as eco-printing — a natural dyeing technique that uses real leaves, flowers and botanicals to create colour, pattern and organic impressions directly on fabric. The technique is commonly used to transfer botanical pigments and forms onto silk and other natural fibres.

Join Maria & Jemimah at the Augusta studio for an intimate, hands-on afternoon exploring plants, colour and textiles.

You'll learn how to arrange botanicals, prepare your composition, bundle your silk, and use natural dye processes to create your own completely unique scarf. There is an element of surprise to the process — you don't fully know what you'll get until the bundle is opened.
