Values & Policies

At Augusta Fashion & Textiles, we bring together art, design, and community to create clothing and experiences that are thoughtful, intentional, and expressive. Our work is grounded in ethical production, creative innovation, and meaningful collaboration.

Below is our commitment to the people we work with and the communities we serve.

CREATIVITY WITH INTENTION

We approach design with curiosity, play, conceptual thinking, and respect for craft. Every piece — whether a garment, a performance costume, or a sculptural work — begins with research, story, and intention.
We believe clothing can shift energy, shape experience, and help people feel more like themselves.

COMMUNITY & COLLABORATION

Augusta thrives through collaboration. We regularly work with dancers, BIPOC creatives, models, DJs, photographers, and multidisciplinary artists.
We value:

  • clear communication

  • generous collaboration

  • fair crediting

  • openness to new ideas

  • respect for everyone’s expertise

Our dream projects are the ones where artists lift each other up and the final experience feels bigger than the sum of its parts.

INCLUSION & REPRESENTATION

We are committed to creating spaces where more voices, more perspectives, and more bodies feel seen and celebrated.
This isn’t just a policy — it’s woven into how we cast shows, choose collaborators, design garments, and plan events.

We intentionally uplift:

  • BIPOC creatives

  • 2SLGBTQIA+ artists and performers

  • diverse body types

  • emerging designers

  • community voices that deserve more visibility

Everyone should feel welcome in our studio, backstage, and on the runway.

ETHICAL & SUSTAINABLE MAKING

We care about how things are made and who makes them.
This means:

  • using materials responsibly

  • prioritizing sustainable and deadstock fabrics when possible

  • making garments with intention, not waste

  • keeping production rooted in respect for people and craft

We’re always learning, improving, and finding new ways to build sustainably.

CARE FOR MODELS & PERFORMERS

Our shows often include dancers, movers, and performers, and we take their safety and comfort seriously.

We ensure:

  • private and comfortable changing areas

  • breaks, snacks, and hydration

  • clear and respectful communication

  • no one is asked to wear anything unsafe or uncomfortable

  • consent is part of every fitting

STUDIO PRACTICE & SHARED SPACE

Our studio is a working environment filled with creativity, experimentation, and production. We keep it:

  • clean

  • organized

  • safe

  • collaborative

  • welcoming

We share tools, machines, and ideas — working with care for the space and for each other.

INTEGRITY, TRANSPARENCY & RESPECT

Whether it’s a custom order, a community workshop, or a full-scale production, we commit to:

  • communicating clearly

  • giving credit where it’s due

  • respecting the time and expertise of everyone involved

  • protecting client privacy and in-progress work

  • honoring agreements and timelines to the best of our ability

We want collaboration with Augusta to feel smooth, honest, and artistically energizing.

WHY WE DO THIS

At the heart of Augusta Fashion & Textiles is a belief in the transformative power of clothing, performance, and community.

We create so that people can feel something — more connected, more expressive, more empowered, more themselves.
